Staying on the US Secretary of States itinerary in Kenya, African countries have been urged to prepare for increased demand for agricultural exports as the worlds arable land acreage dwindles. Speaking during a tour of the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton says the continent needs to focus not only on being food sufficient but also exporting to the rest of the world.

Yes, let's just ignore the trade barriers placed by the western nations(intervening in markets by subsidizing their own farmers allowing them to artificially lower their prices thus pricing the African farmer out of the market)& continue this tired game of AID(where the western nations directly/indirectly retain UP to 90% of the pledged amount in addition to gaining controlling interest in the country receiving AID followed by the crippling of that country's future economy due to debt repayment)

This indeed is a 10 fold increase in 9 years. If that isn't progress, then what is? In the midst of the food, financial, and credit crises, Africa still managed to attract more investment last year and this year we're seeing even more land grab for agriculture. The real reason Secretary Clinton is there is to form stronger ties with Africa as China just surpassed the U.S. as its second largest trade partner with over $108 billion Dollars in trade last year alone.

Just a thought..... Turn the pumps back on in Fresno valley CA. Then help the American farmers. Our farm land is some of the best in the world and America has more then enough land and farms for growing their own food. But rather then taking care of our own with OUR money we are now giving the African farmers American money. SHAME ON THIS GOVERNMENT!!!!!! You cant get much more un-American then this!!!!!
