With the exception of Chaka Khan ... please do not compare non-singing/screaming Patti Labelle and Gladys Knight to Whitney Houston. NONE of those women (including Chaka) have/had a career anywhere near as large as Whitney's. None of those woman have toured nearly as much as Whitney nor have they had to continuously sing powerhouse songs that take a toll on the voice. The Bodyguard Tour was 2 years long with over 121 concerts ... one of 5 world tours she did. Lets compare apples to apples here.

@vibing27 Sigh. I'm not here for contrived excuses and conjuring. Whitney has cited many legendary singers as influences, and neither Gladys nor Patti, are on the list. "Doing better than Whitney"?? Name the last time Gladys or Patti had an album go multi-platinum... Whitney did in 2009 and was also #1 in 16 countries. Whitney is currently doing the "Sparkle" remake and the sequel to "Waiting to Exhale" is in the works. Where's Gladys and Patti's movie?? Lets get real. Whitney Houston >>>

@Neno8403 There are a number of reasons why those aforementioned artist didn't reach the kind of success as Whitney and it really didn't have anything to do with Talent. Granted Whitney has a superb voice but she wouldn't have had that voice hadn't it not been from the influences of those artists all of which are currently doing much better than Whitney Houston. Gladys Knight has a Auditorium named after her in Vegas which is the first and only for a Black woman and she sells out every night.

first, I think, whitney is the best singer ever born, but I doubt about that, so I tried to search many singers in youtube like patti labelle, celine dion, barbra, chaka, etc... of course the other were also great, but they're different, and personally I think, whitney is the best singer ever born... lol
