This is my other favorite out of all the Sesame Street songs I did, based on the charming Fats Waller recording of same title. Believe it or not, the purpose of this song was to teach kids about measuring. I don't think they ran it very often.

  • Was this a cover of the Ink Spot's "My Feets too big"?

  • @Iamcartmanxd The song was first written and recorded by Fats Waller. Not sure how CTW got rights to change lyrics and record.

  • Since this didn't run often, I think you'd be delighted to hear they just used it in a new episode of the Mexican co-production.

  • @MarshalGrover thanks for that, always wondered why it didn't play much.

  • As a long-time fan of he music of Fats Waller ... and of Yellow Submarine-style animation ... and of Busby Berkley spectacles ... and of old-skool line art ... and of Sesame Street ... AND as the owner of feet which are not only too big -- but also two different sizes -- I think I may have quite possibly just stumbled into Heaven.

    Great stuff!

    Cheers!

  • Cheers back. Your comment was fun to read!

  • I remember this as the theme song to "Harry and the Hendersons!"

  • @laughingsal It's a bit more complicated than that.

The Fats Waller song was written by Ada Benson (lyrics) and Fred Fisher (music). However there was an earlier version by the Ink Spots (credited to Jack Hancock), which had a totally different verse, but the same chorus; it's up on youtube as well. Regarding changing lyrics, Fats didn't always sing it the same way each time either...

  • So YOU did these? Always loved the bizarre animation in these shorts. Lots of crazy visuals, lots to look at.

  • Awesome!

  • meh i guess, i wrote this comment two years ago and by this point i don't really care..
