@Charged77ify Mario Kart character models in this game were going to use more frames of animation than the final version. The reason why they didn't do so is obviously, the Ultra 64 couldn't handle too many frames because of memory limitations.

To everyone who thinks the beta blocks look better:
Maybe, but they still made the right choice as far as gameplay goes. The item boxes ended up being transparent which allows you to see what's past them. Nintendo knew what they were doing.
