It has become such a cliché for us so-called "real fans" to not be overly fond of 'Stairway' (to distinguish ourselves from the average music & top-xx listener). Funnily enough the reason for said behaviour is that the song is indeed such a compositional masterpiece nearly everybody admits liking. And while there're numerous fantastic songs in Zeppelin's catalogue worthy of being considered absolute masterpieces imo none combines the group's strengths and characteristics the way 'Stairway' does.
