  • @aberdunsky check this with your local dealership what they can do. If work has been done under warranty you can check what they have done to estimate te costs.

  • Take the car to your dealer, there is a fix to this. Under warranty a new engine has been placed as the various upgrades did not worked.

  • @sandwich75 Oh, and does the new engine work fine? When did you have the "various upgrades" installed? There were many versions, latest from May 2009...

  • @m11keee

The upgrades started in early 09 through july 09. We had the 5 upgrades on the car. After a major inspection of the engine it (after the last fix) it seemd that the damage accured in the engine was to blame on waering of some components. No details were given at the time by the dealer but we where cleared for "drive wearing" in order to get a new engine. So till today we do believe that this problem if if not solved quiclky could result in engine damage sooner or later.

  • my mini is out of warrenty. how much did this cost you. I have the same problem

  • @sandwich75 Well actually the car was built 08/2008, so Im sure it has the old parts mounted. Anyway, I hope the issue has been solved, and that my car will be ok after the fix.. I'll come back with further info. Thx for your help

  • @m11keee

If the latest upgrades don't work than you may have them chek the engine on wearing and recheck the engine mountings. I also know that some of the 08/09 upgrades are incorporated in the 2009 engines starting from March. Check this at your dealer. There are no more upgrades to be expected. Hope it will stay away.

  • @m11keee so I took the car to the dealer yesterday with a list of parts that need to be changed and I dont care if they hear the sound or not. Hope my engine isnt seriously damaged so far like yours was and the fix WILL help.

  • @sandwich75 Yes, that is exactly what I think. I bought the car on April 09, the tractor noise appeared once or twice in 2010 summer, then it was fine, now it started a little bit again. I am no mechanic, but I can recognize somethings wrong I refuse to drive it, because I'm sure it will lead to further engine damage...
