25 cichlids...rule of thumb is one gallon per inch of fish at its full grown state...any of those cichlids will grow between 4-15" each....WAYYYY overstocked

@HittenSwitches that is a good guideline if you plane one doing a normal amount of maintenance on the tank. This many fish is totally doable if you're willing to put in the time to do a big water change every couple days. I got sick of doing all that work so i sold the cichlids to a guy with a 125 gallon. Now I have a VERY understocked reef tank. Once a month water changes..awesome.

@HittenSwitches btw 8" for any of these species would be HUGE let a lone 15". Those oscars in my vid from my old tank are only 12" and thats a 135 gallon tank... just sayin

This tank is not a 55 gallon. Those fish are way 2 big and he has about 20+ in it.

@MrCuz626 I agree with the last part of your comment, but it is definitely a 55 gallon tank. I ended up selling all the fish to someone with a bigger tank. Two 15 gallon water changes a week got kinda old.

@HittenSwitches thats a rule of thumb and you dont have to follow it, its good to overstock cichlid tanks to distribute aggression, almost all of those wont get bigger than 6 or 7 inches...know your shit before you start hatin

The tank is not over stalked, I've had Africans for 22 years now, check out my videos, if you have an overstalk on fish all you need to do is overstalk on rock as well as filtration, give them all a place to hide and sleep basically!
