What you will need: Reaper 4, An idea of what you need for your workflow... Maybe a Dog.. lol

What you will learn: How to setup simple mouse modifiers that will allow you to edit drums manually with one hand... And probably increase your workflow... or allow you to drink coffee while editing.. :-)

Here is the Xfade macro I use: http://tutorialsforreaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/TFR-AW-Gofer-Split-X...

My slip editing video will show you how to setup the macro and SWS Extensions.

  • How can you use Reaper without a Mixer?

  • @PlatypusOhioMusic

Are you asking how to hide teh mixer? View > Show Mixer(uncheck)

If you are asking how I can use reaper without a mixer for what I do.. This was just editing... So I don't need it at this time. :-)

  • I am using the ALT+S method in the older tutorialsforreaper drum editing video.

I go the low-tech way of one-handed editing by shoving a quarter in between the ALT key and the keyboard frame. Works great. lol But sometimes I forget the quarter is in there and try to click something and get some interesting results sometimes.

LOL! nice... but what about the S? heh heh. I use the ALT+S method UNLESS I need to drink some coffee or pet my dog. :-) No down time = more Money/HR. lol

  • @TutorialsForReaper Oh yeah I suppose I do still have to use both hands haha. I guess I do it that way so I don't have to be holding the ALT key down for so long. My left thumb was getting tired.

I am thinking of making a hybrid of ALT+S and what you do in this video. Good stuff man.

  • @tarnationsauce2

You could swap ALT+S with the regular "S" split function... I rarely use the normal split.. i probably could do that too... Hmmm...

  • @PlatypusOhioMusic I mean to not use an external mixing console.

  • YOU ARE A GOOD MAN!!!!

And my cat goes CRAZY happy when I sing or play David Bowie or Billy Idol loudly. She freaks out - she gets all bushy tailed, and starts talking to me and wants to be held and sung to - she's definitely my number one fan!!!!

Another feral cat that stays with me in the winter climbs up my pant leg when I sing...he got crazy too - very odd.

Thank you for your love for that BEAUTIFUL Great Dane. It makes me very happy and so you've helped more than your princess :-)

  • This is great. I also have a dog that sings while I compose and or, needs attention often. this will help me tremendously. Thanks Johnny.
