Videoclip Produced during a participated video workshop held in collaboration with the Palestinian association Beit Atfal Assomoud inside the Palestinian Refugee Camp of Burj el Chamali, in the South of Lebanon.

The videoclip "No School No Future" is part of a pilot project within Mediattivo, a Media Education project based in Milan, promoted by Social Cooperative Grado 16 -- Offiicine dell'Autopromozione and the Cultural Association Media Tutor, and sponsored by the municipality of Milan.

Mediattivo has the aim of fostering the participation of youth in community life and in the production of grass-roots information. Through Mediattivo's multimedia workshops, on the one side young persons are given the opportunity of reflecting about the codes of the media, thus gathering awareness about the way media influence their lives; on the other side, after learning the bases of the language of media, they are given the opportunity of expressing their own thoughts and ideas by realising multimedia productions, whereby they become the protagonists both in the planning and the realisation of their projects.

The pilot project - within which the proposal for a videoclip in Srebrenica is inserted - has the aim of creating a network of youth and youth organisations based in Euromediterrean countries with the scope of promoting the communication and exchange of information between youth in this area. For this pilot project, the format chosen is the videoclip: This choice is based on the fact that videoclips are speaking through the language of images and music, which do not need any translation, for they are easily comprehensible by persons of any provenience.

The first step of Mediattivo outside Italy has been made in April 2008, more precisely in Lebanon, in the Palestinian Refugee Camp of Bourj Al Chamali near the city of Tyre. There, youth aged between 13 and 16 have reflected on the implications of dropping out from school. The issue, proposed by the youth workers of the Association Beit Atfal Assomoud, was then completely developed and realised by the group of young persons attending the workshop. The group also had the possibility of watching two videoclips produced by youth in Milan, thus gathering information about the daily life, problems and desires of their friends living on the other side of the Mediterrean.
