Japanese Food Reality - English

People used to do that in America, especially restaurants. If someone got something they didn't order, or they made too much of something, they'd give it to the local homeless guy on the corner instead, just to be nice. But then some moron sued the people that were giving him food, because he accidentally got food poisoning once. Now nobody will risk being kind. It's messed up, but I can't say I blame 'em. If people bite the hand that feeds 'em, they won't be fed.

Food wasted making the comercial

Don't be a fool. Those foods are expired. You sound like they throw foods away because they have plenty of them

One thing for sure is that if the shop clerks dump food on the floor in this sloppy manner, they'll get fired in Japan. Perhaps one fair standard that the whole world may agree is to optimize the energy consumption over one man's life.

they DO waste food. if the apple is not perfect, they won't sell it. if there are marks or dents or imperfections on the vegetables, they won't sell it. they don't display anything that is not perfect to buy. that is why they have fake food displays, everrrrywhere in japan.

i think you mistaken japan for america
-
yes, i understand that but
cant you do it without insulting?
-
Its not propaganda its asking food companies to donate the food to the poor instead of throwing it away. A perfectly noble request. If you're insulted by pointing out a flaw in the modern supermarket culture thats your own problem.
-
just anoother propaganda

日本だけじゃないはずだと思いますけど?

Wow, I've never seen food just thrown away like that. D8

So true. It's so upsetting. There is a lot of food wasted...in this commercial! Damn.
As I commented before, the store I was working did wasted tons of goods unfortunately. however, I know there are stores that save goods, too. It depends on company's policy. I do not understand people made this film why they only pick JAPANESE. Did they investigate all contries in this world? I would like to read their report if they have. We do not food fight in Japan though.....

Because this video was made by an NPO called Second Harvest Japan to promote their activities in Japan and explain the need for their services here.
