Filmed at the production TARAB in Birmingham 2007. This is Amanda Tivey's debut performance with the company. The piece is a mixture of choreographed Saaidi (folkloric Egyptian) and Pedralta World Fusion's unique improvised style.

At the Gates of the Citadel is on the album 'Immortal Egypt' available from Hossam Ramzy at www.hossamramzy.com (with kind permission of Hossam Ramzy and Phil Thornton)

  • no seguis el ritmo de la musica y ese es un error muy grande...al principio comienza muy lento y ahi es acertado pero esta musica da para mas...

  • Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry my Spanish isn't up to a reply. Let me explain....Pedralta performs ATS. This original style evolved in San Francsico. It uses a vocabulary moves and dancers improvise together to create dynamic choreography. Slow moves in this style are performed arhythmically, giving the dance an ethereal, elemental feel (smoke, fire, water etc.) This piece is based on the ATS format, hence the slow elemental start. Not a mistake , just a little different :)
