TropiJazz All-Stars, Vol. 2
Release Date: January 28, 1997
The very first time I heard this poem recited by Felipe Luciano, my hairs stood up. In an INSTANT an overwhelming desire came over me. A desire to be "rooted". I've always had a passion for Salsa and poetry and after listening to THIS poem, it became my mission to TRULY know who I was and where "we" came from. I will ALWAYS be grateful to Gabriel for introducing this poem to me. ENJOY!

Beautiful, lyrical, powerful verbal musicality truth - rhythms and vibrations we know and feel. In the beginning was the word - the primeval vibration that flowed from The Creator of the seen and unseen The All Knowing The All Powerful that set all creation in motion and gave human the gifts of truth recognition and exposition should human chose to be a righteous griot! Peace, Righteous Griot Felipe Luciano
