  • c'mon guys, Dolphy isn't noodling. you gotta be more generous. he was trying something out. IMO it sounds cool, cause it's all major and happy...shows a different aspect to the song.

  • @Rugt980 hey fuck you jack. i love dolphy, i just dont like this solo. who crawled up your ass and died and made you jazz boss?

  • @hiramwilliams1 I find it adds an interesting texture to the piece, and jazz in general. It may sound a bit weird, but for the most part, he resolves the harsher sounding chords well. The solo has a nice flow to it, especially in the end when he starts to tone it down and lead back into the main melody. He doesn't ruin it, he builds on it.

  • @bluesjoe147 Flute here brings a feeling not unlike that of of Ornette Coleman music in those years.

  • flute playing in anything but classical ruins things god bless dolphy but he otherwise ruins this incredible live piece...lp version live version My Fave things incrediblde Dolphy just noodles

  • @bluesjoe147 Dolphy"s intonation is certainly questionable at times, I guess it's an acquired taste, he certainly was a great musician and player,, some people complain Coltrain plays slightly under pitch on tenor,, none of it bothers me as I enter their magical world.

  • De lo mejor del jazz, pero aclaramos que no es saxo soprano como se dice, sino es clarinete el instrumento q interpreta Coltrane en este tema, lo digo para q no haya confusion. Saludos...

  • now this is true jazz, have aways loved it and aways will, just wish i could have met the man himself Mr.John Coltrane.

  • This for me is Jazz . .
