Japan Airlines Flight 123 was a Japan Airlines domestic flight from Tokyo International Airport to Osaka International Airport. The Boeing 747-SR46 that made this route, registered JA8119, crashed into the ridge of Mount Takamagahara in Gunma Prefecture, 100 km from Tokyo, on Monday August 12, 1985. The crash site was on Osutaka-no-O'ne (Osutaka Ridge), near Mount Osutaka.

All 15 crew members and 505 out of 509 passengers died: a total of 520 deaths. It remains the deadliest single-aircraft disaster in history, and the second-worst aviation accident of all time, after the Tenerife disaster (not counting ground victims). The four female survivors were seated towards the rear of the plane: Yumi Ochiai, an off-duty JAL flight attendant, age 25, who was jammed between a number of seats; Hiroko Yoshizaki, a 34-year-old woman and her 8-year-old daughter Mikiko Yoshizaki, who were trapped in an intact section of the fuselage; and a 12-year-old girl, Keiko Kawakami, who was found wedged between branches in a tree.[1] Among the dead was the famous singer Kyu Sakamoto.

  • @chesedchesed I've got some corrections from ppl. The computer says "Sink rate" not mayday. And the pilot where I wrote "A---AAaaa-a" he is actually saying "power"

  • @eonkorona And when did I say that I'm a Aviation Nerd? Are you acting Moron, or are you just pretending to be one?

  • @chesedchesed It's "sinkrate" not "mayday". Every aviation nerd should know this.

  • Rest in peace flight 123

  • @chesedchesed Small correction... The computer voice said "sink rate" (not "mayday").

  • @thenekom The tree kid is right. I think a few kids and a couple of adults servived too. Pilot, co-pilot and all crew died.

  • The creepiest part is that you can hear TWO impacts. First when they clipped a mountain, then shortly after when they crashed into another. Horrible way to go out, everyone on the flight deck knew they were doomed and had a lot of time to think about it. Wasn't there amazingly one survivor of this flight? A child found alive in a tree? Or am I mistaking this with another incident?

  • such a horrible thing to listen to. Its not just 2 or 3 flight crew, its 520 men, woman and children. RIP xx

  • @chesedchesed thanx for that mate : )

  • this is so fucked up.
