Another headache in government involving money is the Mau compensation saga. Finance Minister Uhuru Kenyatta says the government is not bound by the amended Mau Task Force report that calls for compensation of big landowners. Uhuru says the compensation has not been budgeted for and will not be effected. Rita Tinina reports.
Rita Tinina, I missed you! You are the best!

Uhuru is right regarding ascension of Bills into Acts, where the President can accept or refuse to sign. Of course Kibaki will eventually approve the compensation payment. But the objective is to downplay the role of Raila in environmental conservation, have him do the dirty work, while Kibaki takes credit for the success of evictions, compensation and resettlement. We do not know whether there is friendship between Uhuru Kenyatta and Gideon Moi, herein lies a puzzle that needs solving.
