Duane Eddy and Jim Horn perform their 2nd number on the Central TV Elvis tribute, broadcast on August 14th, 1987. To the best of my knowledge, this is the only place to see this clip. Vid quality is good (SVHS). Audio quality as TXd that day was poor. It should have been NIcam stereo, but wasn't.

  • Hi Aidan. I can Sooooo disagree with U. I bought a Grundig FST mid 1980s and aftr discussions with Grundig Rugby about hyper sibilants of their Nicam card, Herr Pohl in Stuttgart made a rev card & sent it to me for eval. My version went into production. It took 3 passes to get it right. They TXd Nicam for a few years before it was announced: only way to field test it. I was also getting Nicam from Xtal Palace in Abingdon with a Fuck U antenna. Trust me. Presley could have been Nicam,

  • this clip was shown m the English TV show - Stars Play Tribute to Elvis Presley - the show featured clips from about 20 artists and was recorded from studios all over the world - its been on UK tv about 4 times since then, I have a copy of the whole show right here on video

  • First time I've heard this and I thought I'd heard them all. Love this man. Patsilee

  • AN ICON of the old rock and roll..RWB

  • @TheProfRobin It can't have been NICAM stereo (as you mention in the description). Central didbn't start broadcasting NICAM until 1990/1991. The first of the ITV regions to start broadcasting didn't start doing so until 1989.

  • Well done. RWB

  • @onemikehart Thanx Mike. I'd love to be there . . . That recording was made in Central TV's (then) brand new pristine super-duper studios in Nottingham. I happened to tape it and then 10 years after, met a lady, by now TV director, who as a PA had pleaded with producer/director Jon Scoffield to be allowed in the gallery for this shoot. She so wanted my tape when it cropped up in casual conversation . . . . That Guitar is well shot here by a cameraman who knew . .
