Well, I was just listening in for my weekly fix of good music, when I was saw this drivel about war being necesarry, and qoting WW2 to prove the point. Well my frirend, 60M people died in WW2. The net effect was to give power across half of Europe to an evil regeime, just as evil as the facsists. The real winners of the war were fascists too, international socialists rather than national socialists. I chose freedom. War has never solved anything.

you're absolutely right about the soviet union which was every bit as brutal as the third reich. but how could the nazis have been stopped, without a war? and the soviet conquest of most of eastern europe was enabled, not by the war against the nazis, but by churchill and roosevelts' shortsighted eagerness to give stalin whatever he demanded (i.e. the yalta conference)

War is horrible. and i am not trying to start a fight. but war is necessary. the fact that animals that dont have money or power cant resolve there isues with out war.

@TheTollundWoman The problem with that reasoning... is that the reason the Third Reich even happened was BECAUSE of a war. It did not spontaneously appear from thin air with hate and vile and war mongering, the intent of the Reich was to restore "German Glory" that had been "lost" in World War 1. Communsim does not have to be brutal, that's Stalinism/Maoism, etc, which in my opinion after reading Marx reflect absolutely nothing of his writings.

yes, I see your point, how could the Nazis have been stopped? Well, the method chosen i.e. a World War resulted in (we both agree) an equally evil regeime of Communism across half of Europe. That does not seem to have been a worthwhile victory to me. I think both Communism and Fascism were bound to fight in a World War, because both were political systems of State control based on force. Others should have remained at peace and offered humanitarian aid to all. Thanks , Peace
