Wow, 10' tall, but my hollyhock is 14' tall & still not dried out.I planted it last Oct. & it never died in the winter. Rochester, NY

Yes, I think cornflowers. I have a beautiful painting that has blue cornflowers, and now I think the purple ones might be cornflowers also.

I have not grown a holly hock for a few years now,no specific reason. I hope I remember to try a few hollyhocks next spring, there's always room for more !

Hello Noo Yook Gardener - right the dark purple flowers are cornflowers - I think so anyway They were grown from seed in a builders bucket, and are the most wonderful colour, there's a bucket of blues beside them. Just to check I will ask the oracle aka Wyllie - she's the plantswoman.
