@cheloid field carrier landing practice. there's a landing area marked out in paint and with lights, but no arresting gear. students practice landing there before they try for real on the carrier (where missing can have slightly worse consequences)

pardon my ignorance ... but what are they doing? why do they land and take off again? (don't take me wrong the plane is sick one of my dreams is to ride one of em!)
