Manuel Penella's "El Gato Montés" is actually an Opera, according to musicologists. Spanish lyric composers have specialized in Zarzuelas over the years but there are many examples of excellent operas. Alfredo Kraus recorded Arrieta's "Marina", an excellent sample of the genre which merits being heard. There are samples in YouTube, if you are interested.

It's from a zarzuela named "el gato montés". The zarzuela is a kind of opera created in Spain.
