Thats the first time in about 32 years I have seen this. When I heard the theme song and saw the intro I almost blubbed (ok I did).Brings my childhood flooding back.I remember coming back from the shops with my mum and watching it around lunchtime.Ruperts mate with twigs for hair is still quite disturbing!
Fantastic stuff,thanks

Beat you! I'vebeen waiting 40yrs just to hear the lovely theme tune alone! I'm with you,joy to watch it again[tear rolls down cheek] Cheers youtube!!

@suzvijay9 go check but it has to be the 1973 year with brown face as they made only 15 copies. best of luck as you could be sitting on a rare gem.

@MrDjc1970 I shall definately go and check. I have a 1972 one with a brown face. The rest are in my mum's house. must go and check. Thanks :)
I also have a 1967 (year I was born) with a brown face.

@suzvijay9 Do you have a rare 1973 Rupert the bear annual where he has a brown and not white face lol. these are worth up to 30k. get looking. has to be 1973 though and brown faced.

I prefer this series to the US version. The voices sound more correct.

I used to love this when I was a kid... I have collected all the Annuals since 1967 and now my 6 year old son is collecting them.

What year was this??

Amazing. Looked this up to show my 4 yr old daughter the original Ragetty - the little blue turnip headed freak that used to scare kids! He's now portryed as a cute friendly elf - BOR-RING!

I thought this was made by Gerry Anderson's wife, if so maybe they hold the rights.

Officially Carlton was merged with all the other ITV companies. When this print was sold, sometime after 1993, it looks like it was sold abroad, hence the 'International' bit. ITC and Rank films are still owned by ITV,(Carlton bought the archives of these companies in the 90's) Your enquiries should be with Granada, and their offshoot is ITV DVD... Officially the prints should be still owned and archived by Granada.
Notice at the beginning, the timecard (or whatever it's called) shows the name Carlton International - Do they hold this, and others. I thought Carlton was a recent company name... does this mean they are planning an official DVD ?
