This is preached by a true Calvinist.

(A special thanks to Paul LaChapelle at Alpha and Omega Ministries for letting me know about this video and sending it to me.)

This is David King preaching at a the 2006 AOMin Conference in Orlando for James White's book "Pulpit Crimes".

  • trying to teach me:)

  • Yes, but the difference between me and you is that I never claimed that I wasn't. You're the one that asserted that falsehood in relation to yourself.

  • when have you heard me take credit for my salvation once? God called me, he told me to repent, and belive, i responded and obeyed what my Father asked me to do. i get no credit, its a GIFT from Him. i did no work to deserve it. when God told you to repent did you do so or did he repent for you?

  • (AMEN !) John 11:25-27

    English Standard Version (ESV)

25Jesus said to her, (A) "I am the resurrection and(B) the life.[a] Whoever believes in me,(C) though he die,(D) yet shall he live, 26and everyone who lives and believes in me(E) shall never die. Do you believe this?" 27She said to him, "Yes, Lord;(F) I believe that(G) you are the Christ, the Son of God,(H) who is coming into the world."

  • Marvelous. He preached to preachers. I loved it. True Calvinism is a "general tendency" to acknowledge God is in control, walk out our faith in Christ and engage the world without hesitation because God has already gone before us. Not just to the "lost" BUT in many cases to the saved as well...???

  • God commands everyone everywhere to repent and believe and yet further states in the scriptures that many are called, but few are chosen. Only the chosen will respond to the general call to repent and believe. Thus, we should preach "repent and believe" to everyone, because that is the command of God. It would seem to me, that this preacher was consistent with preaching the general call of God. He certainly does not fit the stereotype Calvinist presented by many Arminians.

  • @roaringwaterbay - Actually, my reply was for TheEdge, dunno why it applied to your email. Regardless, I'm a Calvinist, I attend a Calvinist (Reformed actually) church and election is a backdrop of what we believe, not the central point, that is nothing less than the Cross of Christ. :) So, it may be that on the Net you hear a lot of sermons on election, but that's cause election is the most disputed of what we consider Biblical teaching and folks who just find out about want to tell others.
