Heartbreaking expose from VIDEO THE VOTE's John Ennis covering the 2006 Midterm Elections and the widespread problems experienced by voters all over this country as they tried to cast their ballots on Nov. 7th...
This amazing video was filmed by citizen videographers all over the country, who, armed with their video cameras, were dispatched in real time to their local polling place when problems were reported.
Inspired by Ian Inaba's stunning film AMERICAN BLACKOUT and his subsequent project VIDEO THE VOTE, this is the first film to give the thousands of disenfranchised voters of 2006 a voice. Thank you. VIDEO THE VOTE.
Thanks to John Ennis, who edited this beautiful piece for a forum for the People For the American Way Foundation. Also: Kudos Galore to Melissa Giraud, James Rucker, and of course--all the VTV volunteers...
(Original footage from LEONARD SCHMIEGE and JEANNIE DEAN featured from SARASOTA CD-13 VOTER TESTIMONY...great job with the DENT footage, Len. It's a classic.)
Dent pisses me off. She's not a mind reader, she can't guess why so many people missed the main event when they voted. Now I ask you, if I go to vote, it's almost always, mainly because of the big-time contenders, not just school board members, etc.
Jeannie, next time when you or S are filming this sort of thing, would you mind, please, asking the chatty cathies in the room to 'shut up!'?
I think they were so rude to these speakers...
thanks hon.
