I received my new Samsung 448 washer and dryer today. The gas outlet wasn't quite within reach so the appliances had to be positioned in a sub-optimal orientation. The small hole for the gas line and the larger hole for the dryer exhaust don't look like clean cuts. Perhaps I'll cut out the plaster, extend the gas line with some black pipe, then fit some drywall in with better openings.
@Brettyhoe1289 That's actually how it used to be. I wanted to save space for some sort of storage and perhaps a utility sink. I've since moved the fridge out of the laundry room and will later move the washer/dryer over to where the fridge is (facing in the same direction). Then I can fix the old hole in the wall where the dryer exhaust goes. I still want to reorient the appliances so that they are accessible from the hallway instead of the kitchen, but that is a more involved proposition.

So why didn't you just put the dryer on that side how it is right now but on the floor and move over the washer, it looks like their is a lot of pipe for the washer
