@llothar68 The only reason why the American auto companies are surviving is because 1) They were bailed out with initial cash. 2) They received cash for the clunkers bailout 3) Japan was hit with a natural disaster.

And they're still going to fail.

Your comment about young home buyers is true. My daughter just sold her 5 yr old house and had to bring $50,000 tothe closing table. The house was "under water".

She's releived and is now renting. Has no intention of buying again, because as houses drop in value, they become unsell-able,- thereby trapping the owner in that location.

Resources ARE infinite, relatively speaking. If the time ever comes that we absolutely can not harvest from the earth that which we need to progress through capitalism we can attain our resources from other places in the galaxy. Happiness and dignity are a result of earning what you have, not having it given to you as a moocher or a looter. Socialism is immoral, degrading, crushes the human spirit, and will fail every single time. Look to europe as its welfare states crumble.
