  • Fantastic, especially the prophecy theme. The screen adaptations are worth watching, but you have to read the original book. Not sure about all the sequels.

  • The Frank Herbert's novel is a total experience, and, as you correctly point out, the film is a visual adaptation. Nevertheless, some images from the movie are very close to poetry. Vive la difference :-).

  • One of the best Sci-Fi- Movies ever made. Saw it as child and never forget it. The movies stands at side of Star Wars And Star Trek. Sure, you can´t compare those three, but Dune is so beautiful dark and silent and that´s what i love at this movie...:-)

  • The movie is a total masterpiece- Weird ,chaotic, just the way i like it..

    The music is heavenly...

  • this isnt a masterpiece if ridley scott made it who knows how good it could have been.

  • I have always loved this film. As I recall, the critics didn't think much of it but they, with a few exceptions, tend to be an uninspired lot anyway. For me, there is an enduring power to this film that propels it to the very top of my favorite films...

  • ARE WE ALONE? NO.

WILL WE FIND ALIEN LIFE? YES.

    DUNE PLANET = ALIEN LIFE

  • When I first watched the movie, I was very young and it captivated me beyond anything else. I watched it several times before I got the book and when I read it I was even more amazed. I quickly bought every novel Brian Herbert has written and I must say the entire Dune series blows my mind and brings me back time and time again. A universe in the very distance future that one can barely even dream of... thank you Father and Son Herbert for what you've given us.

  • Dammit, this movie was too awesome for words. It's one of my favorite Lynch films, certainly my favorite sci-fi of all time, and one of my favorite films, period. I can't think of a better soundtrack.

  • Arrakas, Dune, Desert Planet, 2nd moon........they will call me muad'dib.

    chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa haaaaa

  • Lynch ist ein Meister - selbst in so einem Genre wie in Wüstenplanet

  • The movie at the first time of watching this was an amazing thing created that left me thinking of future times. The I read the books and the entire length of the series... the movie again, much like others that were made after books was a horrible transition. But... still.... I love the movie and the music that was with it.
