R.I.P.MAESTRO SABICAS !

Those of you who underestimate the contribution of Paco should remember that Sabicas himself said " Paco is my successor" and he did play pure flamenco early on Nino Miguel AND Paco both contributed enormously to flamenco there is no need to discredit paco they both stand alone in their contribution

@whizzkid227 nice that you mention Niño Miguel. I think he was the best, the true genious among the two. The "new flamenco" followed much more the experimenting of Lucia - but I wish it had given more attention to Niño Miguel's style, much more poetic, profound, and true to the roots. It's ironic, since Lucia himself learned a lot from the innovation of Niño.

Niño Miguel, the only true geniune flamenco tocaor after the glorious time of Sabicas

I lived in Spain in the '70's and was in the company of gypsies and musicians. The sounds of Sabicas resonating throughout the night!

HAIL SABICAS !!
Sabicas is the greatest. Still today, I find no one with the pure artistry of Sabicas. He was a true musician and artist not one of the many neurotic, egotist, technicians. No one today is even close, I don't care how good their mechanical skill is. Sabicas is still #1!
