This is a video tour of my aquarium. Will you be impressed? Maybe! You'll have to check out this vid for hardware and the next two vids for livestock!

  • "Rub Tubs" are pretty easy to plumb. The cutting doesn't require power tools, any aquarium friendly silicone is fine for sealing gaps, and male/female washer rings work great.

A good beginner tub would need a basic cycle pump (just to turn the water over) and a euro style sump. Regular water changes will eliminate the need for protein skimmers.

You can supplement the lack of a skimmer with reef friendly cleaner shrimp and fish. This grow tub won't need a refugium if supplied with live rock.

  • Hm, so you haven't drilled any part of your rubbermaid? I'm hoping to be donated a 150 gal rubbermaid (not sure the dimensions yet). But I'm stuck on 'how to plumb'.

-how is the water being pumped out?

Do you just have the tubes in the water with the pump sucking the water into the surge bucket?

    And where is the refugium?

And how would that be set up with this kind of tank?

I'm not tech/engineer/ savy in any way

  • That tub rocks im realy jealous of your kick a-- tub

    Great job guy's

  • Very Nice! Any chance those frags will be shipped to me >_>
