Having not being able to railfan in over a month due to school, AmtrakRailfan117 and I ventured down to San Clemente North Beach to sample some action. To our surprise, it was are rarest day of catches we've had here! 457 appears to be back from the Cascades, and still in the wrap. On top of that, Metrolink 6501 comes unexpectedly with the Angels Game special with a double set! Thinking it couldn't get any better, 860 comes with a Rotem and a Bombardier coach in the new scheme! It was for sure the best day we've had in a long time. Unfortunately, San Clemente now has newer Safetran quad gates at almost all crossings. As always, enjoy and leave a comment!

  • 1:42 what is he scared of??? :D

  • @MetrolinkTrain638 Haha good question! There's a bee hive in that tree....

  • @ocrailfan I wonder... Are all of the Metrolink's F59PHs going to have an 'e' bell?

  • @trainwatcher17 Good question. Almost all F59PH's that have been repainted into the "Metroblank" scheme have e-bells. I don't know what the deal is, but I believe it's because the bell motor either broke or the bell cracked or something.

  • @ocrailfan No, they are being rebulit (Look at the top. They have no fans, they are replaced with a different engine altogether (The V12- 710 engines are gone)) that are built by Motive Power Industries. The bells arent broken, they were replaced too.

  • @ocrailfan No, San Clemente isn't going to be a quite zone I rode on 457 on the 22nd and I heard lots of horn at San Clemente!

  • @AmtrakFan454 In that case, lets hope tourist season goes on for a LONG TIME
