The United Launch Alliance Delta 4 rocket launched the classified NROL-27 spy satellite, using the codename Gryphon, for the U.S. National Reconnaissance Office into a geosynchronous orbit. The rocket flew in the Medium+ (4,2) configuration with two solid rocket boosters.
