I'm new to horses. I take notes from you. You understand them and can explain them. But what you're explaining seems like natural common sense to me. When I meet a new horse, I don't grab and start petting. I give the horse time to check me out at his or her own pace. So far we always get along great. Your advice only helps me to better understand them.

So true.I dont understand how anyone can stall horses.Take the babies away from the moms etc.I JUST DONT GET IT!. It is a very sad reflection of human attempt at dominance.Thank God for people like you.Horses are horses.Dogs are dogs etc.It must affect you to see that shit.It would kill me to see that mom and baby in such a situation.

Hell yes! I agree with everything you said! I try to tell everyone that same thing to everyone! I let my lil orphan colt be a horse and my sisters horse adopted him he loves playing in the big pasture and meeting the neighbor horses!!!! Love your horses to they are beautiful!

I'm a kid and I AGREE! Mama needs to have SOME SPACE! You should tell that lady to get another horse and put it in a paddock. A grassy BIG one!

haha you need to train my mare to eat on demand lol

People (women, LOL) can be SO ridiculous! I I LOVE your point of view....It's a shame so many horse folks are close minded.
I just used a blocker ring to teach a horse to stand tied ......( the owner whined about him pulling)....Then the owner had a fit when she saw her horse tied to a tree standing quietly......WTF? I took the time to train him, then she screamed...YOU CANT TIE HIM!!! HE PULLS BACK!!.......

I love using the room analogy(spelling), cus a 12x12 stall, to a horse, is the same as a human being locked in a closet 16 inches by 20 inches....makes people stop and think a little....

@horseawareness agreed!
My barn manager was getting back from a trail ride on this young horse she was training, as she was passing I closed the car door, and she says, "You scared my horse." I say, "Isn't that good for bombproofing?" She says, "No, not right now." If not now when? It's really horrible when a barn owner thinks they know everything and you have to listen to thier crap and follow thier rules.Sorry I'm just venting.

@pennamb : better to vent here than around your horse or get kicked out. It is all about power, barn managers have the power to kick you out if you don't agree with them so they learn to think they must be right since no one disagrees with them. Bad cycle that always end up making horses pay.
