I am confused, I thought you are Irish, or do you now have US citizenship?
Given that you have lived in the US for a while is that how you identify yoursel, as American?
This is interesting because Australia, like the US, is the home of many immigrants who chose to identify as being the nationality of their home country, before that of Australian, or US, and seem proud of, and determined to retain, that old identity.
