Threave Estate is found near Castle Douglas, in Dumfries and Galloway, in South West Scotland. Threave is part of an estate which was once owned by the Douglas family. The "Black" Douglas was a supporter of Robert the Bruce and his Threave Castle is nearby on an island on the river Dee. In 1867, Threave estate was bought by William Gordon, a Liverpool businessman, and he built the present Threave House in the style of a Scottish baronial mansion. (Between 1700 and 1800, Liverpool was transformed from not much more than a fishing village into one of the busiest slave-trading ports in the world ). The gardens cover 60 acres and are run by the National Trust for Scotland. This was filmed in the month of November.
Good pictures. Nice music.
