This video presents real footage of the twelve limited edition RabbitHole 3D Motion Holograms by ten renowned entertainment industry artists that RabbitHoles Media launched for the Grand Opening of Gnomon Gallery in Hollywood; the RabbitHoles 3D prints were displayed at SIGGRAPH and remain on display at Gnomon Gallery. The pieces are printed in the amazing form of RabbitHoles state-of-the-art digital motion holograms, which display 1280 frames of full-color, 3D imagery with up to ten seconds of fluid and seamless animation on a completely flat surface. The video also includes interviews with the people pioneering the use of RabbitHoles as a new print medium for art, including artists Alex Alvarez, Fred Bastide, Pascal Blanche, Kris Costa, Jeremy Engleman, Meats Meier, Laurent Pierlot, Aaron Sims, Scott Spencer, and Timur "Taron" Baysal.

  • how are these done? anyone knows of any tutorial?

  • @lucaddragon

Look for Printing and Rendering video on the profile - video briefly explains how the process works.

Otherwise, you can visit rabbitholes site for more details and options of creating your own hologram.

  • I think that your rabbitholes are amazing. I want to buy one for my degree project for everyone to look at, and trip out at The Wanganui School of Design in Wanganui, New Zealand. Until I spotted the price of these things!!! I couldn't work out the correct cost from your website. But what I think I'll have to pay is about $3000 (American) for a A2 sized print? Is that right? I can't afford even the smallest prints from other artists! How do you expect people to purchase these things!?

  • You can print your own artwork as artist package, 500$ includes all the artwork guidance, production etc. and you get framed and lit 7x10" hologram. 200$ for additional copies.

You can also order samples of other artists' works 250$ for framed/lit 7x10", 120$ for additional prints (sample designation applies).

  • this should be taught in art schools, i think it should be made more available to the masses, learn how to do em, instead of having to send your work and buy the print, its a business right now

  • Well, it is a business, that's right.

I hope at some point it will be accessible for everyone, same as color printers nowadays.

But it needs to start somewhere!

All the suggestions as to how to make available to the masses are welcome!

  • Definite cool factor! Pushing the bounds of Holographic technology.

  • I have an idea or two for you guys.

Option one: You make four of those but of the same painting. Make it so that you put it in a box and it gives the appearance of an image inside of it, all around.

Option two(Not sure if it's possible): Rather than a regular screen, an all-around screen with the same effect as above.

  • This is always great to see.

  • Holograms are so cool, i don't get it:

Why don't they replace it with tv? I'm

tired of 2-D crap. I want full 3D bitches!

  • @RabbitHolesMedia thanks dude! :)

  • Where to buy this?

  • Now people, THESE are real holograms! Ok?

No projector on a window. REAL HOLOGRAMS!!

    Woo!

  • This literally gives a new dimension. Cool!
