Ultra-rare 1978 Brian Trenchard-Smith film about stunts and rock! Austrailian stunt legend Grant Page hooks up with Los Angeles rock band Sorcery for a "Death Wish At 120 Decibels"! Absolutely priceless stuff.

  • I first heard of this movie when a saw a documentary about the Australian B-Movie industry called "Not Quite Hollywood". The Aussies sure liked car stunts in their movies back then, just look at the "Mad Max" movies.

  • Not Quite Hollywood is fantastic isn't it? Easily the best movie about movies ever made. There's so much great info packed into it, repeated viewings are required. The Aussie 2-DVD set is worth it's weight in gold.

  • All the footage that is not the concert is from other films, because they are all Grant Page stunts. That's the point of the movie. Grant Page's stunts and Rock. Stunt Rock.

  • now thats Rock and Roll! I have no idea why? but that Wizard is beyond awsome!

  • This is like a "Rock Opera or RockTheatre". Nothing like this now.

Just teen pop or half naked,no talent groups that don't do anything we haven't seen back in the 60's or 70's. C'mon people...lets see something new already!

Sorcery,Alice Copper, and some other bands did something new back then with their stage shows for their audience.

Now...not much, well the lighting and sound systems are a little updated!

  • Original Release date was 1978. First release was in Europe and then Australia.

Allied Artists was the original U.S. distributor, but they filed BK 3 months prior to the filkm release date. The film was picked up by other distributoirs nearly a year later. Film Ventures was one in the US market back in 1980.

  • was this released in 1980 or 1978???

  • Interesting that this was released the same year as The Stunt Man

  • I am trying to get in touch with Sorcery's guitarist Richard Taylor. Can anybody help me with this please?

  • sorcery are an awesome band

  • @felicity4711 Leave your family out of this...This band can play!

  • Last night at the "NEW BEVERLY Cinema" ( in L.A. CA.) was another testiment to the drawing power of this film. Directed by Brian Trenchard Smith, starring Grant Page, Monique Van DeVin and the Band Sorcery. The audience was excited to be there, a fun atmosphere and all were entertained. The local media reporters in attendence were not disappointed.

As quoted by one L.A. reporter "We had a great time watching this film".

Thanks to all from the Beverly Cinema for putting this on.

  • @lapspd That's like a Belgian truffle filled with dogshit. Will someone keep Tarantino's grubby, greasy little fingers off of my favorite movies!
