Couldnt novak just do a federer style 1-handed backhand and prevent grip switching from his forehand to his backhand??

his backhand used to be way more natural, fluent...now he makes extra effort to hit a backhand down the line, watch him against nadal

I've been told he doesnt use western, he just winds up like a western grip.
I haven't really actually taken any time to see if that is correct however.
