I'd rather buy a Harley.

@EUROSUN1 It's more fuel efficient than a helicopter when in aircraft mode but less efficient than a normal plane in helicopter mode. The upside is you get the capability of both.
-
@EUROSUN1 Uh, no. It's probably more fuel efficient, and safter, than most other aircraft. And it can land vertically.
-
This video is exactly 6:09 long...weird

@EUROSUN1 Well its the same thing people say about the Helicopter. And yes helicopter is more expensive than a tilt rotor. The slow speed is to blame. So a tilt rotor. Though more expensive than an airplane. It could replace the helicopter entirely. because of the speed they can get it. meaning less fuel used in the long run. Yes Its one year old post so sorry for the respond anyways

@Helge129 I could be totally wrong about it, but its just my first impression.
-
@Helge129 Yes, I'm a pilot. I have a hard time believing that this thing auto-rotating would have much more than a back breaking impact. The rotors (even combined) dont take up anywhere near the same surface area as a comparable size and weight chopper. Considering the wings are not anywhere near the size of a comparable airplane, BUT we have experience with the space shuttle landings; It seems to me that a high speed glide is the only sensible landing. Smart-ass.

@Hondaridr58 Ever heard of "gliding" and "autorotation".
-
@guilleory Shut off the remaining engine, and become a brick with wings like the space shuttle.

Anyone know if the cyclic does anything when its in the plane configuration?
Not true. Bell and Boeing manufacture the V-22 Osprey. Bell and Agusta are developing the BA-609. Boeing sold its interest in the venture some years ago.

Uses too much fuel and is too Expensive. Only useful for an exclusive market like the military and the filthy rich.
