Soul Calibur II commercial "Link's Purchase"

(2003) One of three spots I wrote for Soul Calibur II. This one is for the GameCube version, in which you could fight as Link from the Zelda games. The spot features an arms dealer trying to sell Link a crazy sword. A tough shoot. If you'll notice the action is on top of an elevator, which was cool, but the thing busted down a bunch of times.

Yep. I sure did. With the help of a lot really talented people, of course. But, yeah, I wrote them. Thanks for the props. I was always a little disappointed with the final spots because the actor didn't speak as clearly as he needed to, but they looked great and the game sold like mad. Although I think that would have happened anyway since the SC games are incredibly rad. I just saw an ad for SC IV! Sheesh. Sure has been awhile since we made these.

Now THIS was a way to advertise multiplatform games as exclusive. Show off a commercial for each version by showing off the exclusive content. This gen, companies just make up BS and say something like "Modern Warfare 2 is exclusive to XBOX 360" when it's clearly on PS3. Nice work!
