He got it half right, plenty of opposite lock, but nailing the throttle would have brought the back end back into line. His mistake was panicking and hitting the brakes.

The driver was not a very clever person... He was trying to made a drift on a front wheel drive car (stupidity number 1), using the handbrake (second stupidity), at that enormous speed (stupidity number 3). To make the things worst, he didn't accelerate; instead he caught the brake (when he should step on gas to invert the angular momentum)...
Not a good driver this one!
