@bigronthecat :( thats the only down side of horses if they injure a leg they either need months in a stable to recover and wont be able to do big jumps or they are put down :(

i think express eventings bad because the horse doesnt have the forward momentum to get him clear of the jump if he falls, and a horse might think he's showjumping and not really respect the jumps enough, and because they're solid its really dangerous. at least with proper cross country the horse is going at speed so he wont plop on to top of it

he really and truely was a fabulous horse, fantastic at jumping, such bad luck, this could have happened to anyone.

@AppyArt I completely agree. Mary is undoubtedly a great rider and that can't be argued, but this fall is simply rider error. She should have either left him alone or tried to completely pull him up from the jump. She just miscalculated, unfortunately, and it cost this beautiful horse his life.
