Our first scene is Amtrak's northbound Lake Country Limited passing the Grayslake station on Independence Day 2000 amidst celebration .
Next we see three Amtrak trains at Russel, IL, just south of the Wisconsin border. The first train is the southbound Empire Builder led by two Genesis diesels and an F40PH. Then a northbound and southbound Hiawatha pass, both with an F40PH and cab-contol unit running "pull-pull" style. Note F40PH #404 that was recently remanufactured and painted into an impressive Phase 4 paint scheme!
SPECTACULAR!!! Can't believe I didn't find this video till now...and that Amtrak still had some character at the beginning of this century. Now if you see anything other than a Phase V P42DC or NPCU on an Amtrak train in Wisconsin, you're really lucky. Never seen a video of the short-lived Lake Country Limited service to Janesville, either!

Man I miss those express cars and the old Phase III and Phase IV paint scheme. 2000 was when I first rode Amtrak and that was a very good experience.
