@PennyDoll and that is your personal decision. I, personally, loved to be a princess every weekend while learning life lessons. It's all how you take it(:

@mickayllacaroline That's all very well and good, but i'd personally prefer to have my child compete in something that requires actual skill. Perhaps ballet, karate, or an instrument? Something that *really* teaches how hard work and determination can allow you to succeed. Contrary to what I feel (and what many others may feel) teaches young girls that they can succeed solely by wearing make up and dressing up. You can learn everything you have mentioned there, and more.

I have been in pageants since I was 8 months old. It was a way for me to meet new friends at a young age and also give me and my mother bonding time. As I grew, I continued competing, winning numerous titles and crowns. Almost all the money that is in my college savings account has come from my winnings. Pageants have taught me proper manners, educated me on the importance of public speaking, and most importantly, helped me grow into the person that I am today. You cannot judge based on one show
