  • i have a ring magnet, inside diametre 70mm .... its 3mm thick, and about 1 cm across.

    so its a doughnut torroid field thing .... funny thing is ... there is an imaginary pole in the centre of a ring magnet that pushes away a neodymium magnet!

    levitation for sure.

    now ... im not a circuit guy can we rap the magnet like a bell with voltage for thrust??

    its pretty cool to have an invisible magnet pole thats very tangible.

  • Beacuse the steel ball is positivly and neg at the same time at each ends this is possiable becouse of the diamagnetic effect along the central axis of ring magnets but this kind of levitation has no side holding. The feilds hold stable due to the flux saturation of the steel.

    There are also some other forces at play.
