I took my Nepalese bad boy out into the bamboo forest for a chopping test against some bamboo. It performs nicely.

This is a blade i picked up in Katmandu a while back. I have no details about what it is made of. Nepal isn't real up on stuff like that. When I exchanged money for Nepalese money, they wouldn't even give me a reciept, said they don't give reciepts. Wonderful people and wonderful food. No carbonation in the warm Coke, though. There is no cold Coke, none that I found. Warm flat Coke was the order of the day.

View at your own discretion. The final scenes are a religious ceremony and are not animal cruelty. The goat is eaten. This is part of the festival of Dashain. While some consider this to be cruelty to animals, to others it is an important religious rite and right. I post it here as another aspect of the culture of nepal. If this offends you, please do not watch this video. It is not an opinion on animal rights. It is an introduction to a foreign culture.

At the end of the video there are some photos of a Nepalese goat sacrifice along with Nepalese music used for educational purpose as to not infringe on copyright.TITLE 17 § 107

  • The car in the Bamboo Forest is truly beautiful...

  • @BluelightSpike Heaven only knows how that sucker got and how long it has been there.

  • Where was this forest?

  • @650LaMigra This is on the smallest of the four Japanese main islands, the one across the way from Osaka. In fact, my city, Tokushima, is straight across from the Kobe/Osaka megacity. It's a great town, close to the big city but I can be in the countryside in ten minutes by bicycle. Beautiful nature, no cars, and tons of stuff to cut with a knife:/

  • I would have to say the Kukri is a much larger blade by the looks of it. That Kukri looks awesome, I have been looking into purchasing one. Thanks for sharing the cultural stuff, a nice change compared to the stock "Discovery Channel" coverage most people are exposed too.

  • @CaptainBerz The guy I went with was in shock. All the way back to Katmandu he was as quiet as a butterfly.

  • かぐや姫が出て来なかった。(笑)

  • Btw its KHUKURI!

  • that's my car. look for my video---> way of the gurkha warrior

and you see gurkha chopping off buffalo head in one strike with a khukuri.

  • how long is the blade on this knife??

  • Hey if you see this just figured I would tell you that Khukuris are typically made of truck spring steel of the 5160 variety. It's also a steel used in knifemaking and is widely regarded as one of the best materials for Khukuris.

  • It is very nice kukri.

    Great.

  • Like if you actually wanted to see the goat being behaded and not khukri..
