This gives me hope that my 2 1/2 year old will wear his just as well when he goes through his leg lengthening surgeries as he gets older. Way to go Shawn! Thank you!

Awwww this is so cute haha! Getting the "birdcage" as me and my mother call it (The ilizarov he has) in just 4 days. Biggest surgery yet, but hopefully I'll be all better for good after 6 years of fighting :D

@jenaberl Hi. I had a pretty bad accident 5 mothns ago, and since then I have these frames, but not as many as your kid. I can only imagine and feel so nice to see his spirit. For me it is to the date to give the first steps, but I feel now more motivation after seeing your kid dancing and having no fear of it. Thanks for posting that!

I am happy to report that Shawn's fixator will be coming off on April 4th, after nearly 8 months. He is still happy, lively, and still dancing!

We had underwear adapted for him, with snaps and velcro on the side. His pants have extra wide legs and velcro up the side, especially made by a wonderful woman who volunteers for an organization known as "Children in the Crossfire"- who make adaptable clothing for children of servicemembers.
