  • So when you pick it up to make a phone call the bars go back down?

  • @schellman2 Ultimately, yes. It's really only useful for notifications, or texting.

  • what does it matter where the nearest tower is? thats the only part i dont understand.

  • @KristoferLloyd So you can point it @ the tower....

  • will a soda can work or does it have to be that kind of can??

  • As long as it is as tall or taller then your phone, it will work.

  • Gotcha beat for higher gains, grab your old satellite dish. Any parabolic dish will do usually and your done. Takes you from:

    DL100kbps up to 1.##mbps

    UL100kbps up to 1.##mbps

Use with no amps or antennas, if you do... your prl will require updating.

  • i made one. it gave me 3 bars!

  • just like a parabolic reflector. the phone model would actually affect its effectivity. works for mine :) two thumbs up!

  • This would work great with a bluetooth headset.

  • this is great this is the only way i can get a signal at my house and iv been using this same can for about a year. its great for iphone and i can text with it still in the can and use speaker phone when i recieve a call

  • is this a steel can or an aluminium one ? can this also speed up a web surf on the cell phone ?

  • is this a steel can or an aluminium one ?

  • better i boil an egg, i will get same resuls :)

  • my mum says "oh my scissor!"

  • Thanks for the idea, with a Bluetooth ear piece and a little luck this idea might make a low signal area in the home usable.
