Our very first attempt at vacuum forming. As you can tell, the material wasn't hot enough to form, but it was hot enough to melt the paint off the mold. That was engine paint BTW.

  • nice ha ha ha ha ha ha is this mold made of plastic lol

    it melted

i think u wanted to shape the mold not the sheet

  • @legoclockfreak710 I've heard that the plastic needs to be heated in a uniform way, so an iron probably wouldnt work. You also don't want to burn the plastic. You should research the tempurature at which plastic boils. Boiling water gets to about 200 F degrees. that will answer your question

  • @legoclockfreak710 maybe you could with a heat gun but I don't think it will work better than vacuum forming, depends on what you're doing...

  • daft punk helmet?

  • ha ha

  • is there a way to soften plastic with an iron or hot water??? please help!

  • lol that sucks

  • What is the object you're forming made of? Do you know if there is any way to vaccume form oil based clay?

  • Is that acrylic or plexiglass?and how thick is that thing?Hilarious, somehow it hardens so quickly. Thanks for the upload!
