additionally, shihonage is most effective when facing a samurai who is attacking with a sword, that was the original intent when the jujutsu ryuha perfected this technique. Additionally, this technique, as with many jujutsu techniques,were intended for samurai, because they are dressed in kimono,the friction of the sleeve is used against the attacker..for two unarmed opponents wearing stretchable short sleeve t shirts, soaked in the rain,shihonage will not work.Muay Thai works better here.Peace.

Your shihonage @0:56 was poorly executed ,uke could escape easily, nage has to have uke's elbow locked at the beginning of the move,also at a less than 90 degree angle, and when that's achieved, externally rotate uke's shoulder by pulling down on his forearm with his upper arm on your trapezius,in order to lock him as you go under his arm.Uke must be made unable to strike you as you step under his arm.Don't feel bad,shihonage takes decades to perfect.
