http://www.weforum.org/gendergap 08.11.2007 Saadia Zahidi head of the Women Leaders Programme at the World Economic Forum comments on the latest findings of the Global Gender Gap Report 2007.
A woman does not have to work at home, take care of herself, children, and then if she still has time and energy left, have a career. We are fighting for equal rights for men and women. Women give birth to children, that's the only difference. After the baby is born, taking care of the house and children is responsibility of both parents 50/50. Save time taking care of yourself too, put less effort on physical appearance and more on the intellectual/less superficial aspects of your personality
However I do not think that it is a methodological mistake not to include it for two reasons. 1) Putting a value on domestic work can be very difficult as, in most cases, it is unpaid and 2) including it would skewer the results away from encouraging women to enter the professional workforce and so would impede the indicator as a way of measuring the 'gender gap.' In short, it would be counter intuitive.
Absolutely right! Women have progressed, educated themselves to move forward. The gender gap can only be decreased if womens efforts were recognized, appreciated and encouraged to move forward. Times have changed, more women are now professionals and both sexes need to work together and alongside of each other to make a country more prosperous.
I think that there is a mistake about the methodology because if women doesn`t work in some professional field this fact doesn`t signify that she doesn`t work. Is very hard to work in house, take care yourself and childrens and have professional field too; she makes an option and this interpretation is equivocated.
Propaganda!

Perhaps you are right, the value of domestic work is still work and not to count it could be seen as ignoring an important job in society.
