Hard to believe this was 22 years ago today. It seems like yesterday to me. It is also hot in SF today, like it was that day.

I remember this broadcast-my friends had power on in the Twin Peaks area. After they would report, the screen would go blue and just emergency info would appear. To make a call, you would have to pick up the phone and wait while it simply made "clicking" sounds until a dial tone would start. What a night that was-I hope I never have to witness something like that again.

Somewhere I have tape of KRON coming back on the air right after the earthquake knocked them off- they're in the studio mostly in the dark since the main power wasn't working. I taped KTVU at the same time and uploaded that last week.
